    Hi,

No, we are saying wind energy can be done in a way that minimizes impacts to birds. We agree on the need for implementing alternative energy solutions such as wind and solar to stem global warming.

    Hello.

I’m a bit confused. I thought that you were saying wind energy is bad because it kills birds… Was I mistaken? If I was, please correct me. I agree that humans shouldn’t kill other species when not necessary. But wind energy is helpful to us by cutting down our dependency on non-renewable resources, so in that case it is necessary.

    Hi Mvlty,

Of course humans are part of nature, but the key difference in this case is that we are hopefully smart enough to avoid unnecessary harm to other species. Why not do wind energy right from the start and avoid the needless killing of millions of birds over the next century as this industry is developed?

Have you ever thought that humans are part of nature too? We aren’t any different than other species that harm another’s environment. Other species relocate due to predators or a more agressive species that steals all it’s food. Aren’t we animals too? Don’t we have a right to fill some of our needs even though it means we must harm another? Other species are allowed to do it. It’s called nature…natural selection…You can’t always have mutualism or the world wouldn’t work right!
