    This is a montage

  2. Azoicum says:

    pull the plug, dude

  3. PsychoticusRex says:

which one was better, the cylindrical or the conical magnus effect turbine? Is it true they can’t pass through the zero mph state without manual assistance to restart?

  4. kdkinen says:

how the hell does it work? just round props?

  5. RockingMinors says:

    this ones better

  6. aeroscope says:

    Magnus Effect!!!

  7. Demaga says:

do you know how does this wind turbine avoid excesive spining at high wind speeds?
electronic brake in the main axis maybe?
    thank you!

this machine must brew some good beer…

  9. klmccp says:

no lo entiendo ….. si alguien entiende por favo me avisa a mail ……estare muy agradecido chao y gracias

  10. klmccp says:

disculpen … qien me explica como gira eso??

  11. klmccp says:

    como rayos gira eso?

  12. closetpunk2006 says:

Haha, yeah, I guess so - Even with gusts I didn’t think it would speed up and slow down so quickly, but maybe it does.

  13. lolcat23 says:

what? then you better get out of the closet(PUN!!!!). youve never experienced gusts of wind?

  14. lolcat23 says:

i thought it only needed a kick start from a stand still, and from that you would then continue to generate power. so if its more efficient 98% of the time by, wouldnt that make it more efficient?

question though, would these turbines be better as large or small turbines? Im thinking smaller because of the additional spinning of the tubes would be hard at very large sizes(?)

  15. bishoplpc77 says:

    they used ball berrings!!!!!!!! cooooollll!

I see a lot of lack of info on these comments.
1)There is no blades, just cylinders
2)The cylinders are spinning on their own axis and on the main axis of the 3 cylinders
3)It’s possible to keep the main axis spinning through the Magnus Effect
4)This type of aero-generator needs very less wind to keep spinning then the normal blades type, thus is far more efficient
5)It needs to be started by a motor
What’s the Magnus effect? Do some reseach! Get some real info on how it works before judging.

  17. mookixox says:

for 1) it look like a day of heavy winds…which isnt too often. 2) the helix design is much more efficient. 3) for the amount of material involved the electricity gained seems negligible.

  18. Asheun says:

Design of a crackpot huh? I am willing to bet that this design is able to spin faster than its bladed counterpart. The blades on this design will not flex at high speeds. Why because thay are rounded and will hold their shape far better. I say kudos to you and keep up the good work and science. See not all of us Americans are so narrow minded.

  19. gootyam says:

Would it be possible for your next test run to paint some markings on the moving parts?
I would love to see how things move more clearly.

  20. robertpmc says:

My own feelings on America are unknown to you. So once again my point is proven. You didn’t even understand the statement and you’re off on one! Thanks for proving the point. Oh and yes, I want the science too - not the unschooled negativity

  21. robertpmc says:

CroakerMD, What on earth do you mean “similar prejudice” ? I have no such prejudice, just sick of negativity from the bigoted of the world - I say that because people condemn things out of hand and many, if not most on youtube, hail from the States. In anyones language that is bigotry and gives America a bad name.

  22. CroakerMD says:

And then you condemn yourself out of your own mouth with a similiar predjudice, “no wonder America”

Blah blah blah. How about some science?

  23. robertpmc says:

No wonder America gets a bad name in the rest of the world. Galilei had the same problem in Europe all those years ago. “This has to be the design of some crackpot” is the statement of a narrow mind.

I, for one admire the effort and innovation and hope it works well. We need the “crackpots” of this world who try to light a better way. We already have far too many bigots in the dark.

  24. robertpmc says:

All you negative commentators make me smile. You all condemn what you nothing of and decide it’s no good !! Such bigoted belligerence.

  25. jizzmonger says:

It looks like flaps open and close on the ends of the 3 “blades”.

It looks it wastes a lot of surface area.

This has to be the design of some crackpot
